This is news I’ve been waiting for for such a long time.
I’m so happy to announce that one of my personal favorites will be available once again to the general public. Hurrah for Nautilus Comics’ printing of the beautiful second edition of The Mythology Class!
The Mythology Class has always had a special place in my heart, mostly because it reawakened in me a love of Philippine mythology, which is slowly being forgotten amidst this tech-involved, globalized world.
With this book featuring curious scenes of enkantos, heroic Filipino legends, and beautiful love, it’s no wonder that this series won the Manila Critics Circle’s National Book Award in 2000. It’s that good.
Not only will this be available at Komikon on November 15, 2014 (in Bayanihan Center, Pasig), but this will also soon be available in your favorite comic shops and bookstores – with three variant covers to choose from, or collect.
Here’s the (beautifully blue) cover that will be available this Komikon:

Here’s the (mystical realm) cover that will be available in local bookstores:
Gorgeous, aren’t they?
Oh, and if you’ll be going to Komikon on November 15, Arnold Arre himself will be at the Nautilus Comics booth. Come to say hello, and don’t forget to bring After Eden, Andong Agimat, Trip to Tagaytay, and other Arre books you’d like to have signed!
Oh, and before I end, here are some other Nautilus Comics news you may be interested in:
I have mentioned this in my previous PSA, but Trip to Tagaytay and Cast 12 will again be available this Komikon at the same booth. While they’re both available in local bookstores (like Fully Booked) and comic shops (like Filbar’s or Comic Odyssey), you can get once more Cast 12 with Harvey Tolibao’s variant cover if you drop by during this event.
In addition, Date Works, Inc. (by Jamie Bautista and Jim Jimenez) has been nominated for Best Webcomic at the Komikon Awards. Check it out and vote for it here.
So there you have it. I’ll probably be passing by this Komikon to gift myself a copy of Myth Class, and why don’t you go ahead and get one too? Do get a copy, if only to plunge yourself once more in the beauty of Philippine folklore, and to join the merry band that forms the Mythology Class.
See you there!
Arnold Arre’s The Mythology Class (blue) variant cover will be available only at the Nautilus Comics booth in Komikon on November 15, 2014 at the Bayanihan Center, Pioneer St., Pasig City, from 10 am to 7 pm.
