[Tabletop RPG] Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition

Posted on November 21, 2014October 21, 2019 by DC

Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition Starter Set (Red Box)I have always been curious about Dungeons and Dragons (especially with the polyhedral dice). I even started up a conversation once in my book club about it, but that sadly didn’t turn into anything (yet).

Well, my sister and I got some rulebooks and the 4th edition starter set, and we tried it out today. (I considered buying the 5th edition one, but considering shipping fees and the month-long wait due to port congestion made me rethink the matter.)

We used a dice app, papers, and pens, and used the character sheets provided. It was a nice foray into the game, even though my sister and I died in our first encounter. (Oh, and the repeated going over of rules and pages was really rather headache-inducing at first.)

It would actually be cool to play this with more people. (Hint hint: roll20.net) I have once said that I wanted to be DM, but I realize that it would use a lot of brainpower and time to craft a game. Well, maybe I’ll get there eventually.
