This movie was one crazy, metaphysical ride.
Being the non-synopsis-reader that I am, I had no idea what to expect with this movie. I just remember it being mentioned to me a couple of times, and finally decided to get around watching it.
It begins with a puppeteer. He falls for another woman, and finds himself a special way to get into the head of John Horatio Malkovich. Things get pretty weird after that: the thought of gender reassignment surgery, the odd Maxine, and some babble about living forever.
It moves from weird scenario to weird scenario (7 1/2 floor, notwithstanding), and keeps on going… Up to the very last bit. I could not count how many times I’ve said the word “What” aloud, because of all the mess.
Kudos for an original script though. I love the thought, and it still seems refreshing today. Crazy, but satisfying.
